Friday 21st April saw one of our brand-new team members on his first ever shift. Wearing his poppy with pride, Hugo managed to fit in to his busy schedule a rather nice tour of Teesside and surrounding areas. The sky was a glorious blue and the sun shone, making Hugo’s first day out as a valued member of #teamCIPHER a one to enjoy, as well as providing a first class and reliable service to those in need of medical assistance.
As is by now well-known, CIPHER Medical names each of their ambulance vehicles after the loved ones of team members and the newest member of the team is no different. Hugo was named after the beloved ‘fur babies’ of two of the CIPHER team: Emergency Care Assistants Simon Thompson and Adam Howell (who is also Fleet & Logistics Team Leader). Both Simon and Adam are thrilled with the latest addition to the ambulance fleet. Hugo wears the same ambulance livery that is now very familiar to people across Teesside, with the iconic CIPHER Medical logo, the remembrance poppies, and, of course, his ‘signature’.
Hugo was seen across Teesside last Friday, visiting landmarks such as the Historic Quay at the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Hartlepool – having a nice visit with the Trincomalee – and the Infinity Bridge across the River Tees in Stockton. In fact, Hugo’s day was so busy, he had to take a rest stop to enjoy a Greggs coffee!
Head of Ambulance Operations, Chris Hills, is delighted to have this latest addition to the fleet. He said, ‘It’s great that our fleet of vehicles continues to expand so that we can continue to provide medical assistance in varied circumstances, from events to patient transport. I love that we name our vehicles after family members. This is, in a small but significant way, a tribute to our loved ones. It also gives our vehicles ‘personality’ and recognition.’
Welcome to #teamCIPHER, Hugo. We know you’ll make a difference!
